Beauty can be incorporated even into the smallest architectural details. With its new finishes, colours and materials, the Belgian firm Niko Architects wants to offer a broader range of opportunities to treat technical elements as an integral part of the overall design.

The iconic design duo Charles and Ray Eames knew it all along: details aren’t just details; they make the design. For over a century, Niko, who are based in Sint-Niklaas, have been taking that vision to heart. “In 1965, we launched Inter 70, a switch made of metal and leather. It was Europe’s first flat luxury switch and marked Niko’s international breakthrough,” explains product designer Arne Desmet.
