The Architecture Unit of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is a support body for project management that lends assistance to operational services, local authorities or private operators. The organizer of many competitions, it relies on experts in the field in order to appoint the authors of projects but also to salute unbuilt architecture, which also makes it possible to change the ways we think.

With the adoption of the Davos Declaration on 22 January 2018, many EU Member States shared a grand ambition. The declaration highlighted a shared political and cultural awareness that emphasises the importance of Baukultur, a concept that is less restrictive than ‘architectural culture’ alone. As a result, heritage, the environment and society are also back on the agenda. It is precisely these issues that now shape the vision for spatial planning and form the basis for a better political understanding of it.
