Tomás Barberá Ramallo and François Ricciardi (both students at the ULB La Cambre-Horta) are two of the three joint winners of the 2018 Van Hove Prize. The Professional Union of Architects (upa-bua) has been awarding this prize since 1982 to students with the best final-year projects.

The three projects honoured by the jury this year essentially all focus on social engagement and social cohesion, and how to achieve these through a mixed-use development. In our previous issue (No. 276), we already discussed one of the winning projects, namely ‘As Found in Kazanches’ by Luna Catteeuw.
