After completing his studies in architectural engineering and urban planning, Thomas Willemse worked as a landscape architect with Bas Smets and Bogdan & Van Broeck. At the same time, he carried out his own projects, all of which lay at the intersection of architecture, landscape and urban planning. In 2019, Willemse officially established his studio in Brussels. The studio is a co-founder of the architectural practice act., and Willemse supervises the Studio Landscape Urbanism at KU Leuven.

Studio Thomas Willemse operates at the intersection of various disciplines, with urban planning as its focus. In Brussels’ North district, act. collaborated with Wauw to design a school forecourt for Klavertje Vier. Through subtle interventions such as green axes and a cycle path, they introduce soft mobility. The design forms the final piece of the puzzle that will connect and transform the existing context of residential towers and the school.
