On 3 March 2020, A and Bozar are inviting the Dutch architectural firm Monadnock to give a lecture at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels. Co-founder Job Floris explains how he and his partner Sandor Naus celebrate the timelessness of architecture without ever succumbing to nostalgia.

Since its foundation in 2006, Rotterdam-based Monadnock has realised only a handful of projects, alongside a great many brilliant competition entries. That limited output has, however, met with an unusually large international response. The Landmark in Nieuw-Bergen, for example, featured on the back cover of ‘Architectuur in Nederland. Yearbook 2015/2016’. Their focus on the history of architecture and context clearly marked a break with the Superdutch generation.
