Postgraduate students at KU Leuven are compiling an inventory of village architecture in Malle and Olen. The research forms part of the Kempenlab Village Architecture, a project run by the architectural organisation Ar-Tur in Turnhout.

In order to develop a vocabulary and a toolkit for high-quality architectural projects that are in keeping with the village character, the students are initially looking for elements from the past. Using the case studies of Malle and Olen, they are analysing the typology and morphology of villages in the Kempen region throughout history.
