Irish firm Grafton Architects is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and what a milestone year it has been. They curated the Venice Biennale and, with a monograph published this summer, suddenly found themselves holding their own history book in their hands. Following their lecture on 11 December at Bozar, A+ spoke with Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell about this extraordinary year and the true meaning of building, now and in the future.
Christophe Antipas — Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell, you have just completed two major projects: curating the 2018 Venice Biennale and the publication of Grafton Architects, your first monograph with Phaidon. How does that feel?
