In 2018, Kaan Architecten completed a new crematorium in Aalst, the seventeenth in Belgium. A figure worth pausing to consider. The building, designed by the Dutch firm, is constructed entirely of concrete from floor to ceiling and has an exceptionally solemn, stately appearance.
