Palace is a cinema complex in Brussels, the renovation and restoration of which were entrusted to the Alain Richard architectural practice. The site’s layout is shaped by the various interventions that make it up. With three entrances connecting the Halles Saint-Géry district to Boulevard Anspach, the building’s façade reflects three eras and even more lives. The building now houses four cinema screens and catering areas.

According to the architect in charge of this twelve-year renovation project (> a 202), three major constraints emerged from the relationship with the existing structure. The main entrance, situated on Boulevard Anspach, follows logically from the Y-shaped plot occupied by the original building. It opens out onto the axis of the Grand-Place and the Stock Exchange in the very heart of the city centre. On Rue Borgval, Place Saint-Géry acts as a buffer, providing privacy for a massive façade, pierced by a few openings indicating the offices. Rue Van Praet, lined with restaurants, is home to the brasserie.
