The ‘Avril en ville’ festival will take place in the heart of Liège from 20 April. It will explore contemporary urban issues, focusing in particular on the idea that a city should be viewed first and foremost as a place where people live, rather than as a place of consumption.

Building on this idea, the project – which brings together some thirty partners under the umbrella of the non-profit organisation urbAgora – examines the inhabited city in all its forms. It chooses to focus on the city’s territory as a place where people live. Arguing that urban living is undervalued in the social and political imagination, ‘Avril en ville’ aims to return the city of Liège and its future to the hands of its inhabitants.
