1972: W.V.P. removes the blue plastic sheeting protecting a pile of wooden trusses. Three years earlier, a temporary church had been demolished fourteen kilometres away. Today, no one can recall how the laminated arched trusses ended up in the meadow. Despite the original installation of the parabolic trusses – created by Kunstwerkstede De Coene and awarded first prize in the 1955 National Architecture Competition – the Citroën garage required width rather than height. Since 1972, the trusses have stood with their bases at the ridge.
