Every two years, roof window manufacturer Velux organises an international competition for architecture students from around the world. Naturally, daylight must play a central role. The prize is awarded per continent and in two different categories: ‘Daylight in Buildings’ and ‘Daylight Investigations’.

This year, 579 students submitted design proposals. The international jury that assessed the proposals consisted of Odile Decq (Studio Odile Decq, FR), Nora Demeter (Demeter Design Studio, HU), Sebastian Adamo (Adamo-Faiden Architects, AR), Juri Troy (Juri Troy Architects, AT) and Martin Pors (DK) from Velux itself. It is worth noting that not only do the winners receive a cash prize of 1,000 euros, but their tutors are also awarded 250 euros.
