Yves Dupont was awarded first prize in the 2018 Euregional Architecture Prize (EAP) for his project VAKhuis, A house for craftsmanship (‘a house for craftsmanship’). This competition for final-year projects from five architecture programmes in the Meuse-Rhine Euregio is organised annually in one of the three countries of the ‘Euregio’: Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany. The VAKhuis project was carried out during the 2017–2018 academic year at the Faculty of Architecture and Art at Hasselt University.

In the New Economies studio, Yves Dupont studied the former industrial zone along the Albert Canal between Hasselt and Genk as part of his final-year project, ‘Local practice in a global economy: a future for Limburg?’. This area is home to large industrial buildings and infrastructure projects, such as the N702 regional road.
