In September 2020, MolenWest Square, a new public space just a stone’s throw from Gare de l’Ouest, opened its doors. This involved creating suitable facilities on this stretch of brownfield land designed for young people. A temporary occupation project designed by 1010 Architecture Urbanisme.

Gare de l’Ouest. Right in the heart of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. An intermodal transport hub (metro, bus, tram, train) that makes it a priority development site within the Brussels-Capital Region. Nearby lies a thirteen-hectare, one-kilometre-long brownfield site, comprising land owned by Infrabel and the SNCB.
