In her photographs, Amélie Landry explores places where men meet and engage in sexual activity. Recently exhibited at the 6th edition of the Photography and Architecture Triennial in Brussels, this series is divided into three sections: open spaces/discreet human presence/daytime; semi-open spaces/more assertive human presence/evening; and enclosed spaces/assertive bodies/night-time. These places, whether ordinary or unusual, lie on the fringes, in derelict areas, relegated to the city’s outskirts or beyond it altogether. On the beach, deep in the woods, in a car park or in a blackroom, men hide there, sometimes only to expose themselves all the more.
