The young Swedish architectural practice Arrhov Frick, on which 2G Magazinenet has published a monograph, is known for its minimalist architecture and its subtle designs. A+ spoke to Johan Arrhov ahead of the lecture the practice is due to give at Bozar on 11 February 2019.

Since Johan Arrhov and Henrik Frick founded their practice in Stockholm in 2010, it has grown and evolved steadily. They take a cautious approach, allowing them to expand gradually without trying to take on too much too quickly. They deliberately keep their practice small (ten to twelve staff) so that they can remain genuinely involved in all projects. They discuss everything together, but the three partners divide up the roles and responsibilities for each phase of a project, from the initial sketch and detailed plan right through to site supervision. This division of tasks allows the others to maintain the necessary distance, so that they can quickly spot where improvements can be made or adjustments are needed.
