In 2022, Studio SNCDA completed its first project, comprising a fire station with administrative offices and three emergency accommodation units, topped by a large multi-purpose hall in the historic centre of Dilbeek.

Studio SNCDA won this competition against some of the heavyweights of Flemish architecture in 2013, the year the studio was founded. Sara Noel Costa de Araujo has thus succeeded in establishing her practice by building in Dilbeek, on the Brussels border of the Flemish Region. With a touch of bravado, she employs a brick vocabulary that references a certain politically supported Flemish localism… without using a single terracotta element.
