On the former Plaine des Manœuvres in Tournai, the architectural practice L’Escaut has created a skatepark whose course winds its way between the buildings. It is also an experiment in the new spatial porosity of today’s public spaces.

The Tournai skatepark is situated on the outskirts of the town, on the large, increasingly less open site of the former Manœuvres plain (a name that still resonates with most residents of Tournai). It features a series of large structures at the point where the roads to Lille and Douai leave the town.
