In addition to a large number of private commissions, the Austrian firm Marte.Marte has realised a whole series of award-winning buildings in the fields of culture, education, infrastructure and healthcare. At Bozar, the Marte brothers talk about the evolution of their projects – from a small bridge in the Ebnit Valley to museums in Berlin and the Wachau region.

Marte.Marte was founded in 1993 by Bernhard and Stefan Marte, after they won their first competition. In addition to a wide range of projects, the architects published a monograph in 2008, and at the Venice Biennale in 2016 they presented ‘Appearing Sculptural’, a series of short films in collaboration with Andreas Waldschuetz.
