On Thursday 4 June, PAF (Platform for Architecture and Feminism) invites you to a new session of its Book Club, this time dedicated to Radical Justice: Building the World We Need (2026). The author and human rights lawyer, Nani Jansen Reventlow, will present her book and discuss her practice, as well as the connections she forges with the fields of architecture and design.

Moderated by architect Luce Beeckmans and the audience, she will explore how the book’s themes, notably climate justice and decolonisation, resonate within architectural and design practices.

In the book Radical Justice, Jansen Reventlow outlines how we can begin today to build a fundamentally different future, where freedom, equality and justice take centre stage and where everyone enjoys equal opportunities. Through nine accessible and incisive essays, inspired by leading thinkers in anti-racism and social justice, the author invites us to think and act for a fairer world. Adopting an intersectional and decolonial approach, she explores how justice can take concrete form, and how each of us can help to challenge existing, deeply entrenched preconceptions.

During this evening, the ideas developed in the book will be discussed in relation to contemporary design practices. The central question is: what role can architecture play in creating a fairer society? And how can design contribute to more inclusive and fairer ways of living and coexisting?

The discussion is explicitly focused on exchange: participants are invited to reflect together, share their experiences and consider how these ideas can be applied to their own practice
