The House O project was created by Tuur Vermeiren as part of the Surrender Resistance workshop during the 2016–2017 academic year at the Faculty of Architecture of KU Leuven Sint-Lucas Brussels.

Orlando is a fictional character who no longer ages and who struggles to come to terms with his ambiguous sexuality. House O is Orlando’s imaginary home, as it might have been had a seventh chapter been written for Virginia Woolf’s novel *Orlando, a Biography* (1928). This sequel imagines Orlando’s life in our time. No longer wishing to keep his former properties, Orlando abandons them and moves to Brussels to take advantage of the network of antique dealers. He contacts an architect, Tuur Vermeiren, and asks him to design a house on Square Marie-Louise. The boundary between fiction – Orlando – and reality – the planning permission – remains blurred in this seventh chapter.
