As part of the first edition of the ‘Avril en Ville’ festival in Liège, 25 April was dedicated to exploring different perspectives on gender and the city.

How do men and women (or do they not) make public spaces their own? How do they perceive them? Why do some women feel excluded or vulnerable in them? Who benefits from urban developments? Numerous studies show that the city is predominantly shaped by men… But who designs the city, and for whom? What would a non-discriminatory city look like? The Faculty of Architecture at ULiège invited the public to reflect on these questions through three activities: a walk, a lecture and a debate.
