Striking a balance between visibility and privacy, the Atelier d’Architecture Daniel Delgoffe combines a clear sense of purpose with the discretion and security required by the building’s function in its design for the Guillemins police station in Liège.

Facing the railway line, the massive, compact form makes use of elevation, curvature and inflection to define the angle of the emerging block, widen the ends of the streets that frame it, suggest visual perspectives between the dense urban fabric and Cointe Hill, and assert the building’s status within the neighbourhood.
