When a couple of artists bought Kasteel de Motte in 2000, it was little more than a shadow of its former self. Wim Goes brought the 18th-century country house back to life. To do so, the architect had to travel back in time for a brief moment.

Kasteel de Motte, near Bruges, is more of a country house, even though it is surrounded by a moat and a beautiful park. The neoclassical façades reveal that it dates from the 18th century; it was built on the site of a walled manor farm.
