Anyone walking along the Oude Dokken in Ghent these days can see that the recently created Kapitein Zeppos Park is a success. Although the park was originally intended as a neighbourhood park, it attracts residents from all over the city.

The unique combination of the water with its distinctive flora and the industrial heritage makes the site the hotspot par excellence. The logical path layout, the planting that at times appears somewhat haphazard, and the well-chosen historical relics give the whole an organic feel. As if the park simply came into being after the departure of the last timber merchants.
