Since 2019, Asiat Park in Vilvoorde has been the playground of the Horst Arts & Music Festival. Previously, the festival brought together various design disciplines at the Horst castle estate in Holsbeek. Today, the festival is housed on the grounds of a former military barracks in Vilvoorde, a location it is permitted to use for ten years. Horst opens the estate to the public and allows the various disciplines of architecture, art and music to collaborate. The annual music festival is traditionally accompanied by an open-air summer exhibition of temporary or semi-permanent works of art, installations and pavilions spread across the entire site.

The tenth edition features eight new interventions. Artists, scenographers and architects set to work on the theme ‘to have or to hold’, which arose from the development of the interdisciplinary arts festival itself. Horst thus pays tribute to the place that hosts the festival. Sometimes they affectionately hold on to the idiosyncratic structures of the domain, but sometimes they also take them over. A loving hold, a decisive takeover or an innovative transformation.
