In recent months, KU Leuven (LUCAS/Social Policy and Social Work research group), Ghent University (departments of Architecture and Urban Planning, and Social Work and Social Pedagogy), Architecture Workroom Brussels (AWB), the Team Vlaams Bouwmeester, the Flemish Infrastructure Fund for Personal Matters (VIPA) and a number of agencies of the Flemish Government have joined forces for Take Care, a five-part workshop series on invisible care.
Each workshop explored a specific theme – such as embedding care within a neighbourhood, the financing of invisible care, or the socialisation of care, whereby older people or people with disabilities remain living at home for as long as possible.
