Before Ruben Castro founded his agency in 2020, he worked in Switzerland for several years, including at Christian Kerez, Office Haratori and Peter Zumthor. There, in the Swiss Alps, he became aware of the power of nature, which he experiences as fundamental to human creations.

“The boulder in the photo was once liquid,” says Castro. “The stone was originally part of the mountain peak and was carried away by a glacier to a place where it continued to erode. These kinds of natural processes are a source of inspiration for me. In my work, I want to use them as a creative force to create architecture in all its spatiality, materiality and temporality.”
