Marie Moors created “Atlantic Wall, Second Chance as a Citadel for Subcultures?” during the 2016–2017 academic year as part of her final-year project at the Faculty of Architecture and Art at Hasselt University.
The project, situated on the Ostend seafront, addresses the issues of flooding and rising sea levels. It offers an infrastructural solution based on buffer tanks. The design is inspired by the royal galleries of Ostend and Venice, and stands out in the landscape as a linear intervention.
