A+318 Streets as Soft Spaces

A+, in collaboration with Filter Café Filtré Atelier, warmly invites you to the launch of A+318 Streets as Soft Spaces, on Thursday 25 June at Barmacie in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The evening will focus on one of today’s greatest design challenges: reinventing the ‘ordinary’ street. After all, beyond mere traffic management, streets can contribute to numerous other social needs, such as improved air quality and water management, as well as greater social interaction and cultural exchange.

During the evening, various contributors of A+318, architects and policymakers will discuss the importance of an appropriate architectural language and an inclusive, integrated approach to street design. The launch of this issue, which the editorial team of A+ produced in collaboration with Gideon Boie, who passed away on 20 May 2026, is entirely dedicated to his ideas and legacy. The event also marks the start of Openstreets 2026.
