Set between the urban fabric of Antwerp North and the Schijnpoort freight station, Felt architecture & design has built a compact home with a distinctly urban character and a touch of a cabin in the woods. In collaboration with AG Vespa, Felt designed a starter home that can grow alongside the family structure and budget of its residents. In doing so, they anticipate the beloved Belgian rear extension and experiment with the concept of the adaptable home.

The design for Touw emerged from two central questions: how do you interpret the concept of a starter home, and how can you capture the potential for extending a home on a specific plot within a design? These questions led to an experiment: AG Vespa is not only selling a compact starter home of 120 m², but also the planning permission, the technical preparations and the design for future extensions.
