A , Library and Garden
‘Si hortum in bibliotheca habes, deerit nihil.’ According to Cicero (106–42 BC), if you have a garden and a library, you lack nothing. A concrete call stone in the patio of the Office library in Sint-Martens-Latem, a work of art by Richard Venlet, bears the above inscription (p. 12). As the new artistic director of A, the architecture magazine and programme, it is an honour for me to supplement and further develop the library and garden for you from now on.
