Pashenko Works is a young architecture firm founded by Mariia Pashenko (Ukraine) and Koen Schaballie (Belgium). They work from Brussels, Kiev and London. “For us, work, passion and family are inseparable. That’s why, rather than choosing a single reference, we would like to highlight a series of projects that we have visited during our travels and holidays. In our view, the best approach to studying architecture and urban planning is to explore the cities of Europe.”

“In terms of references, we are very inspired by the English terraced house built in London during the Georgian era in the 18th century. This row of houses (such as those in Bedford Square in Bloomsbury) is an urban feature that has served as a model in many British cities: it forms an urban block, typically laid out in crescents, while the surrounding streets run alongside parks and squares. Terraced houses are part of a large repetitive composition, but on closer inspection, it becomes apparent that each dwelling differs slightly from the others. It is a kind of architecture devoid of ego, unpretentious, which remains in the background and serves the bustling city life.
