In Ostend, a dilapidated brick school was replaced by a light studio building. The building itself is a construction kit.
The brick school building had been subsiding for years. So the school decided to replace it. Like its predecessor, the new building had to accommodate large studios. The demolition gave the school the opportunity to make the building block, which over the years had almost completely become part of the school, less closed off. The old, austere building offered little visibility and completely closed off the north side of the building block from the street.
