With humility and ingenuity, this seemingly simple project embodies a true manifesto for its architects, Bruum architecture (Michel Prégardien) and Thibaut Brogneaux. It showcases the willow, a local resource, in a small building where every structural element is designed to accommodate multiple uses and whose spatial sequences bind it intimately to the landscape.
Willow grows in abundance in Hosdent, in the municipality of Braives, equidistant from Namur and Liège. Since 2008, the village has been recognised for developing a sustainable economic and tourism sector centred on the valley’s natural wealth.
