Browning Park in Herstal, designed by the Multiple agency, is a long-term project combining architectural renovation with public and landscape development. Through the scale of its mission and the diversity of its actions, it embodies how industrial conversions can become fully-fledged urban projects — both complex and patient.

A short distance from the Herstal railway line, the historic Browning firearms production site prospered for many years before being abandoned, leaving the town with heavily polluted land and buildings in ruins. In 2009, the Town of Herstal decided to buy the brownfield site and obtained ERDF funding to transform this devastated area into an urban landscape park. Winner of the competition, the Multiple agency is carrying out the project through various actions that give this conversion its full meaning.
