Discretion was paramount in the transformation of the Manufacture des Tabacs in Strasbourg into a complex with organic eateries and shops. In this modest but tasteful project by the architects of Générale and Atelier Matthieu Buisson, all attention is focused on the existing heritage.

The tobacco factory in Strasbourg dates back to the 19th century. The large and stately building complex, with its elegant and repetitive façades, encloses a square courtyard to which buildings were later added to support tobacco production. In the project by Générale and Atelier Matthieu Buisson, these logistical buildings were repurposed into a series of organic food shops and eateries.
