The remarkable career of the internationally renowned architect Xaveer De Geyter began in 1988 when he founded his architect firm XDGA. He developed his own unique approach over time in projects on various scales, from private dwellings to urban master plans.

His first two references, two houses in Mariakerke (1991) and Brasschaat (1992) respectively, were soon noticed by architecture critics and paved the way for his participation in a series of international and urban planning competitions. At the beginning of the new millennium his first two large-scale projects (“Torens” in Breda and the Îlot Saint Maurice in Lille) contributed to the international development of his practice. Today XDGA employs more than fifty employees.

Today XDGA focuses on infrastructure and public programmes as well as on housing and research. Recent projects include houses in Bordeaux and Paris, buildings for the University of Ghent and the Elishout Tower in Anderlecht. Competitions play an important role in the firm’s activities, as vectors for critical research. In Brussels the firm among others won the competition for the refurbishment of Schuman Square and Rogier Square. In Antwerp, in 2011, Xaveer De Geyter won the competition for the construction of the new offices of the Province of Antwerp.

In 2012 Xaveer De Geyter already was a guest of Bozar Architecture /A+ in the frame of the exhibition 4X4. 4 Visions on the North-South Junction.
