On 11 February 2020, A+ Architecture in Belgium and BOZAR will have the pleasure of hosting Tham & Videgård and LAN at the Fine Arts Centre in Brussels for a dual conference, in which both firms will discuss the use of wood in their architectural practice.
The evening will begin with an address by Umberto Napolitano, who founded LAN with Benoit Jallon, in Paris, in 2002. They will present one of the tallest wooden buildings in France, the Wood’Up tower, currently under construction in Paris.
He will also introduce the work of Swedish firm Tham & Videgård. In operation since 1999, they have experimented with wood at different levels, from the interior of a holiday home like Krokholmen, to the use of solid wood in large urban projects like the Wooden High-Rise in Stockholm.
