SO–IL (°2008, US) was founded by Dutchman Florian Idenburg and Chinese Jing Liu. The firm is known for its innovative, context-aware designs that enrich cultural and social spaces. SO–IL combines practice and research and emphasises collaboration, social engagement and the creation of community-oriented architecture.
Recent projects include 144 Vanderbilt, a residential project distinguished by its sculptural façade and integration into the urban context; 450 Warren Street, an apartment complex known for its thoughtful design and use of materials; and the Amant Arts Campus, a cultural incubator with studios, galleries, and performance spaces.
