A+ Architecture in Belgium invites you to the presentation of the new issue of A+310 Material Flows, with the Brussels collective Rotor as guest editor.
As part of their exhibition Entangled Matter (16.10.2024 – 12.01.2025) at Bozar, A+ asked Rotor to collaborate as guest editors on a special issue of its magazine, dedicated to the reuse of materials and the preservation of buildings. A+310 Material Flows is therefore not a monograph of Rotor’s work, but rather a collection of critical essays on material flows and the challenges posed by the implementation of a circular economy for contemporary architectural practice. With contributions from Lionel Devlieger, in conversation with Jane Hutton; Pierre Chabard, on aesthetics and the change of authorship; Pauline Lefebvre, on maintenance and sustainability; Kristiaan Borret, on non-demolition; Thomas Vilquin, on high technology versus low technology; and Philippe Simay, on urban mining.
During this A+ Launch, the editors and some of the authors will interact. This event is an opportunity to explore Rotor’s vision and approach in greater depth.
Programme:
Introduction: Eline Dehullu (editor-in-chief of A+)
Conversation between: Michael Ghyoot (Rotor), Arne Vande Capelle (Rotor), Lionel Devlieger (author of A+310, academic at Ghent University), Pauline Lefebvre (author of A+310, academic at the Free University of Brussels)
Followed by drinks and the launch of the new issue of A+310 Material Flows (available at a reduced price of €20 for the occasion).
