In the woods around Zoersel, Felt architects built ‘Villa Kameleon’, a home for nine people with intellectual disabilities. Within a compact form, they developed an innovative plan that leaves classic care architecture behind.
For more than fifty years, the non-profit organisation Monnikenheide – now merged with Spectrum under the wing of Emmaüs vzw – has been literally building a world in which people with disabilities can live, work, have fun and, in short, live life to the fullest. Recently, the extensive care campus they manage in the wooded area around Zoersel was expanded with a new building: Villa Kameleon.
