The Circular Brick, made from unmined natural raw materials and residual flows, represents a turning point in the range offered by brick manufacturer Vande Moortel. The brick is produced exclusively in a smaller format, which means savings in terms of materials and budget for interested designers and clients.

The Circular Brick is the Oudenaarde brickworks’ response to the growing demand for the reuse of materials. Vande Moortel uses only secondary and circular raw materials for the brick: surpluses from its own production – for ‘regular’ bricks – or residual flows from infrastructure works, but also finished bricks that have not passed the inspection process. The latter are first ground down before they can be reused. This mixture of raw materials is processed in the same way as regular bricks. Because the composition varies, the colour of the resulting brick is not consistent. However, the result meets the same requirements as the conventional range and can be used in the same way in facade masonry.
