BC Architects – With the UTUBE study project, in collaboration with the CSTC and various (foreign) partners, BC Materials is investigating the possibility of manufacturing bricks from clay excavated for the construction of the future metro line 3 in Brussels (between Gare du Nord and Bordet) for use in the construction of future metro stations and other structures. Raw earth bricks have a particularly low ecological footprint and offer good qualities for construction.

dmvA – For the finishing of the exterior patio walls, the choice was deliberately made to use masonry, and not only for logistical reasons. Transporting the materials was not easy given the project’s location in the middle of a block, but also because of the flexibility of brick as a building material. The patios were created in collaboration with artist Nick Ervinck, following the ‘Brick in motion’ concept.
