On January 30, 2024, A+ Architecture in Belgium and Bozar are delighted to invite you to a lecture by Dorte Mandrup and Klaas Goris at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels.
De Danish architect, Dorte Mandrup, founded her firm in 1999. Her projects mainly focus on cultural and educational spaces. The Scandinavian firm designs architecture that is responsible both towards society and nature. Her artistic approach forms the basis of her internationally acclaimed work. She will present, among other projects, The Whale, the whale observation center she designed in Andenes, Norway. This exceptional structure integrates Arctic light to create a unique immersive experience. Both architects will present a selection of their projects.
Klaas Goris is a Belgian architect and co-founder of the Ghent-based firm Coussée Goris Huyghe architects. Their work delves into centuries-old constructive traditions. The authentic architecture they conceive reflects a meticulous attention to detail. Art and poetry are inseparable from their architecture. The Crematorium Hofheide built in Holsbeek, Belgium, demonstrates their focus on spatial perception and sensory experience. This place of reflection stands out for its careful use of light, creating spaces that combine serenity and contemplation.
Following their respective presentations, both architects will come together on stage to discuss the theme “How Light Shapes Space”.
To participate, please register before January 28. Once registered for the conference via the form, we will meet you at the ‘VIP Trouble Desk’ on the evening of the event to hand over your ticket.
